Qualcomm Selected as Having One of the Top 50 Training Organizations in America

Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM) today announced that it has been named one of the "Top 50 Training Organizations in America" by Training magazine. Qualcomm, ranked twelfth on the list, was recognized for linking its individual training and development programs to the Company's overall business objectives. Other companies selected include IBM, Cisco Systems, Intel, Hewlett-Packard, Qwest, Dell and Lucent Technologies.

Qualcomm was selected due to its active encouragement of sharing knowledge, and demonstrated interest in the personal and professional development of its employees. Qualcomm provides employees with freedom to experiment and share ideas, and understands that the success of the organization is directly related to the extent that individuals are encouraged to develop their own potential.

Qualcomm was named as one of the few companies on the list that "stand out from the pack," citing the tuition reimbursement program, on-site academic education opportunities and collaborative efforts with local universities, which help to advance the education of its employees.

"Qualcomm is honored to be recognized as one of the top training organizations in the United States," said Tamar Elkeles, vice president of learning for Qualcomm. "We will continue to provide employees with exceptional development opportunities that are aligned with our overall business goals."

"Qualcomm's demonstrated commitment to training and development has, among other things, positively affected employee retention, job satisfaction, market position and competitive advantage," stated Training magazine. "Qualcomm has less than six percent voluntary turnover, a high rate of employee promotions, and higher-than-market-average merit increases are given twice a year. The relatively new Rapid Cycle Time and Creativity training programs have enabled the company to deliver products and services to market faster than its competitors."
