Qualcomm Expands Rohde & Schwarz' CDMA License for 3G CDMA

SAN DIEGO -- February 14, 2001 -- Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), pioneer and world leader of Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) digital wireless technology, today announced an amendment to Rohde&Schwarz' existing CDMA test equipment license agreement. Prior to the amendment, Rohde&Schwarz' CDMA license covered only cdmaOne™ applications. Under the terms of the amended multi-million dollar agreement, Qualcomm has granted Rohde&Schwarz a license to use certain Qualcomm patents, as well as purchase Qualcomm's advanced integrated circuits and system software for the manufacture and supply of test equipment products for current and third-generation (3G) CDMA (cdma2000, cdma2000 1xEV, TD-SCDMA, WCDMA) applications.
