SAN DIEGO -- October 26, 2000 -- Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), pioneer and world leader of Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA), today announced amendments to Fujitsu's existing CDMA subscriber and infrastructure licensing agreements which expand the licenses under Qualcomm's CDMA patent portfolio to include the development, manufacture and distribution of subscriber and infrastructure equipment for third-generation CDMA (WCDMA, cdma2000, TD-SCDMA) products. Prior to these amendments, Fujitsu's CDMA licenses covered only products for cdmaOne™ applications. Under the terms of the amendments, Fujitsu will pay Qualcomm a license fee and ongoing royalties at the same rates irrespective of the licensed CDMA standard.
