SAN DIEGO -- October 26, 2000 -- Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), pioneer and world leader of Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) digital wireless technology, today announced a multi-million dollar agreement extending AirPrime Inc.'s CDMA license to encompass full subscriber unit rights. This amendment to AirPrime's existing modem card license provides AirPrime enhanced ability to deliver CDMA wireless access solutions that meet original equipment manufacturing (OEM) customer form factor, integration and cost requirements. Under the terms of the agreement, AirPrime is licensed to develop, manufacture and sell subscriber units for wireless CDMA applications based on current and third-generation (3G) CDMA technologies, including IS-95A/B, cdma2000 and 1xEV (HDR).

At the PCIA tradeshow last September, AirPrime showcased its first OEM product platform, the SB1000 CDMA Springboard™ Module for Handspring™ Visor™ handheld computer. In addition, AirPrime and Flextronics (Nasdaq: FLEX) announced a high-volume manufacturing agreement for CDMA-based wireless access devices.
