Qualcomm and Tellus Technology Sign CDMA Modem Card License Agreement

SAN DIEGO -- September 11, 2000 -- Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), pioneer and world leader of Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) digital wireless technology, and Tellus Technology Incorporated, a developer and manufacturer of wireless terminal products and Internet Protocol (IP) networking solutions, today announced that they have entered into a CDMA modem card license agreement. Under the terms of the royalty-bearing agreement, Qualcomm has granted Tellus a worldwide license under Qualcomm's CDMA technology and patents to design and market modem card products for CDMA and High Data Rate (HDR) applications.

"Tellus Technology further supports Qualcomm's vision of providing CDMA-enabled devices with innumerable applications to consumers and businesses worldwide."

Based in Fremont, Calif., Tellus Technology is a developer, manufacturer and supplier of wireless data modems and IP networking solutions for CDPD and CDMA. In addition to its WIPClip CDPD Modules, Tellus offers the TPRM OEM CDPD module for PDAs and laptops, AVL, telemetry and remote security monitoring applications and the CBF 2000 terminal adapter for POS and other financial transaction applications.
