Qualcomm Promotes Johan Lodenius to Senior Vice President of Marketing and Product Management for Qualcomm CDMA Technologies

SAN DIEGO -- February 23, 2000 -- Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), pioneer and world leader of Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) digital wireless technology, today announced the promotion of Johan Lodenius to senior vice president of marketing and product management for Qualcomm CDMA Technologies.

In his new role, Lodenius will oversee all aspects of marketing for Qualcomm CDMA Technologies, including strategic development, product management and definition, and marketing communications. In addition, Lodenius will be responsible for new business development and competitive analysis.

Lodenius joined Qualcomm in 1996 as director of marketing. Since January 1998, Lodenius has served as Qualcomm CDMA Technologies' vice president of marketing and product management, where he led the division in achieving record growth and significant market expansion. Before joining Qualcomm, Lodenius worked with LSI Logic Corporation, where he was business development manager for the company's worldwide communications products. He also held product management and engineering positions with Ericsson Radio Systems and Ericsson Components in Sweden.

A native of Sweden, Lodenius received a bachelor's of science degree in electronics and computer technology from the Lund Institute of Technology, and holds a certificate in marketing from Ericsson and the IHM Marketing Institute in Stockholm. He is also the inventor of patented digital wireless communications intellectual property.
