Personal AI: Powering the Ecosystem of You vision

What you should know:
  • Personal AI is evolving into an always‑present companion — seeing, hearing and acting across the devices you use and wear every day.
  • A new category of intelligent wearables is emerging, creating an interconnected “Ecosystem of You” that adapts to you in real time.
  • Snapdragon platforms scale personal AI across devices and form factors — delivering efficient, on‑device intelligence from wearables to XR and beyond.

Mass consumer adoption of AI is accelerating dramatically — shifting from a novel utility to something that is becoming deeply personal and helpful in day-to-day routines. This trend is being accelerated by the fact that AI is being natively integrated into more devices that consumers wear or interact with every day. The breadth of contextual data that we can now utilize empowers our AI agents to feel uniquely personal to each individual. In these exciting times, I’m thrilled to be expanding my role to lead Qualcomm Technologies’ XR, Wearables and Personal AI business units, driving innovation across categories to create personal AI companions.

With years in the AI industry, I’m looking forward to continuing to bring AI virtually everywhere, so devices are smart and responsive. All of these business units aim to expand personal AI capabilities, from real-time translation to generative content and context-aware experiences, while reducing reliance on constant connectivity for improved performance and security features.

The rise of personal AI represents a new era of technology — one that moves with you, learns from you and works for you. At its heart, personal AI is about developing technology that is mobile, adaptive and responsive. It is transforming how we use and interact with smartphones, PCs and cars, creating new categories of near-body and on-body intelligent companions that continuously learn, adapt and respond to individual needs in real time.

A new category is emerging: intelligent wearables

Personal AI finds its most natural application on devices that are worn directly on the body or are in close proximity to the user. This proximity enables technology to easily integrate with daily life, allowing for adaptive, responsive and highly personalized experiences.

As a result, a new category — intelligent wearables — is emerging. These include devices such as watches, earbuds, rings, glasses, pendants, pins and more. What sets these wearables apart is the integration of agentic AI that works collaboratively across devices. Together, your devices will form an interconnected experience — a vision we call the "Ecosystem of You," — designed to continuously learn from, adapt to, and respond to individual needs in real time.

The key technologies behind Snapdragon personal AI leadership

Snapdragon platforms deliver key technology advantages that make it especially suited for personal AI, combining advanced sensing, optimized performance and superior connectivity. With leading camera quality and strong low‑light imaging, devices gain rich visual awareness for more intuitive AI experiences. Snapdragon high‑efficiency on‑device AI and superior perception capabilities enable responsive, context‑aware interactions without compromising battery life. Its low‑power architecture and compact, high‑performance design make it ideal for wearables and other personal devices. And with superior, low‑power connectivity and intelligent audio features like adaptive noise cancelling and spatial sound, Snapdragon creates a cohesive, intelligent foundation for personal AI.

Enhancing consumer AI experiences

Snapdragon technology is engineered to make AI faster, smarter and more efficient. Our heterogeneous computing architecture combines CPUs, GPUs and dedicated AI engines to deliver best-in-class performance per watt, enabling advanced AI workloads without draining battery life.

Recently announced innovations exemplify this vision:

  • Project Motoko represents the next evolution in personal AI — a wireless, AI-native headset designed to easily integrate into your life. Built on Snapdragon, Motoko combines advanced computer vision, intelligent audio detection, and real-time AI interaction to deliver a powerful vision and audio platform. From productivity and content capture to gaming and everyday tasks, Motoko transforms what headphones can do making it more than a device, but your always-on AI companion.

  • Project Maxwell reimagines the role of AI in mobile computing. Powered by Snapdragon, Maxwell is a wearable device that combines high-performance AI processing with superior connectivity to enable next-generation personal assistants, immersive experiences and intelligent workflows — all in a sleek, portable form factor. Maxwell will support Motorola Qira, a new era of personal AI agent with a focus on intuitive, context-aware experiences. Designed to understand your preferences and adapt in real time, Qira brings personalized assistance to your smartphone — making AI feel truly personal.
