Today Qualcomm Technologies introduces a new resource for Android application (app) developers — Android on Snapdragon. This new website will highlight the latest premium Snapdragon technologies and offer instructions on how to add them into Android apps.

We aim to provide Android app developers with:

  • The largest set of tools possible to build apps with outstanding performance and features.
  • Help finding the best approach to using standard Android application programming interfaces (APIs) on Snapdragon mobile platforms.
  • Snapdragon Extension APIs to enhance apps with new experiences.

Android on Snapdragon provides Android API walkthroughs, free-to-use code, as well as access to information on Snapdragon Extension APIs for developers who want to integrate the most premium Snapdragon technologies into their apps.

Snapdragon platforms are loaded with new technologies and innovations which original equipment manufacturers use to build incredible phone experiences. In turn, smartphones with Snapdragon harness these technologies to deliver amazing new user experiences.

For example, smartphones with Snapdragon leverage these innovations and build incredible camera apps capable of capturing 8K high dynamic range (HDR) video, 4K HDR video capture, 200 Megapixel photos and more. Now, developers are enabled to make their Android apps equally incredible and all the more powerful thanks to Android on Snapdragon.
