Super smooth mobile gaming at 144 frames per second on Snapdragon 865 – a first in mobile

The Qualcomm Snapdragon Mobile Platform is built with gamers in mind.  Snapdragon is designed to deliver incredible graphics and great battery life so you can game and win all day long.

The Snapdragon 865 5G Mobile Platform features our latest Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite Gaming technologies to usher in smartphones with desktop-level gaming experiences.   One of these desktop-level features is support for 144 Hz displays and games capable of delivering 144 frames per second (fps) for super smooth gaming.  The more frames per second the smoother the game looks and feels.

Graphics benchmarking site, GameBench,  tested its first Snapdragon 865 smartphone equipped with a 144 Hz display – the Nubia Red Magic 5G. Based on GameBench’s testing with the latest games capable of 144 fps, like Real Racing 3, it declared that true 144 fps gaming on mobile has arrived!

Real Racing 3, by Electronic Arts, supports 144 fps gaming and delivered a median frame rate of 144 fps which GameBench says is “the same degree of visual smoothness you'd get from a gaming PC with a 144 Hz monitor…the Red Magic's 144 fps rendering of Real Racing 3 had an immediate impact on the game's visuals and responsiveness. It felt like a whole new experience,”

At the heart of the gaming experience in Snapdragon is the Qualcomm Adreno GPU (graphics processing unit). The Adreno GPU is the part of Snapdragon that creates incredible graphics so you can play games with super smooth motion (up to 144 fps) and in HDR (High Dynamic Range) so you can game in over a billion shades of color.

Thanks to Snapdragon 865 and it’s Adreno 650 GPU, the Nubia Red Magic 5G was awarded the first Ultra-144 badge from GameBench.
