Lenovo announces the Miix 630 Always Connected PC powered by the Snapdragon 835 mobile PC platform

Today, at CES 2018, a new member officially joins the family of Always Connected* PCs powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon: the Lenovo Miix 630. Developed as an answer to the world’s growing demand for productivity and entertainment on the go, the Miix 630 employs some pretty impressive features: lightning-fast “always on” connectivity supported by the Snapdragon 835 mobile PC platform, productivity tools courtesy of Windows 10, and all-day battery life. The sleek Miix 630 2-in-1 detachable brings the efficient mobility of the smartphone to a PC.

Powerful connectivity and performance

With an Always On PC, users can go almost anywhere with their Miix 630 without being dependent on spotty Wi-Fi and mobile hotspots. The Snapdragon 835 mobile PC platform powers the Miix 630, supporting a robust connection that is engineered to switch between built-in 4G LTE and Wi-Fi so users can quickly stream movies and download files when on the move.

The Miix 630 runs on the Windows 10 S operating system, for consistent performance, advanced security, and thousands of apps available through the Windows Store.

Extended battery life

The Miix 630 boasts up to 20 hours of local video playback, so there’s no need to pack a charger. When the Miix 630 is on Connected Standby, its battery life is extended up to 4X to 5X longer than competing solutions. In this mode, the Miix 630 is designed to continue to sync data to the cloud automatically and stay connected with emails, apps, and notifications — without sacrificing power-efficiency.

Calling all creatives

The Miix 630 is designed to transform from a laptop to a sketchpad with ease, and features a detachable full-sized keyboard and digital pen. The digital pen has 1,024 levels of sensitivity, so users can naturally “put pen to paper” by drawing, sketching, and annotating on the 12.3-inch WUXGA+ touchscreen display with Windows Ink.

And for writers, the 2-in-1 PC’s full-sized, backlit keyboard encourages users to type those longer emails and essays to their heart’s content.

A built-in personal assistant

Those wanting help organizing their schedules needn’t look any further: The Miix 630 features Microsoft’s virtual assistant, Cortana, built in to the OS. The voice-enabled, intelligent personal digital assistant can create reminders, track flights, send short emails, play music, and do a variety of other tasks to make users’ lives that much easier.

Quick and efficient biometric authentication

The Miix 630 takes security a step further than the traditional typed password. Users can log into their device with additional security as this Always Connected PC pairs its infrared camera with Windows Hello The camera uses biometric facial recognition engineered so that it doesn’t just unlock for anyone.

Design and dimensions

With its keyboard, the 2-in-1 PC is 0.6 inches (15.6mm) thick and weighs 2.93 pounds (1.33kg), so it’s light enough to tote around with ease on a hectic day. Efficient heat processing means the Miix 630 is fanless, which allows for quiet operations, no matter how many applications are running.

The Lenovo Miix 630 is expected to be available for purchase starting in the spring, on the Lenovo site.
