Why you need Qualcomm Wi-Fi and MU-MIMO technology in your next router

There’s a dark little problem appearing in homes around the world. It feels pretty innocuous at first, but it soon spreads everywhere. We’re talking about the home network performance gap. You may know it better as the dang-it-why-does-my-Wi-Fi-suck-so-bad syndrome. Does this look familiar:

That’s right—a lot of people today have a real problem with their Wi-Fi, and it’s only going to get worse. Some might blame buffering on their streaming provider, or their laptop for dropping off the network every couple minutes.

But, is it any wonder that problems like these emerge? Consider these three facts:

So, both the number of connected devices and the amount of data we consume is growing exponentially. And here’s the rub, if you bought your router a few years ago, it probably wasn’t built for this reality. It’s like trying to plug a gas powered car into an electric car charger—it’s just not going to work. It’s the wrong technology.

The upshot is that we at Qualcomm Technologies have a firm grasp on these trends, and are designing Wi-Fi technologies to buck them. Our networking technologies support the absolute latest and greatest features—case in point, MU-MIMO. MU-MIMO, in a nutshell, makes it possible for your router to serve lots of devices all at the same time, something any previous router couldn’t do. That’s right, MU-MIMO probably solves the exact problems you have with your Wi-Fi today (and will in the future).

As you’d expect, lots of our customers are taking this awesome technology and already delivering it to homes and businesses. So, if you’re not happy with your Wi-Fi, or if you’re on your way to connecting every device in your home, remember to get a router with Qualcomm Technologies’ Wi-Fi and MU-MIMO. Here are three of our favorites:
