Delivering on a promise: Wi-Fi to its maximum effect

Here’s something you may already know: Qualcomm is committed to making mobile experiences better—whether you’re connected over cellular or Wi-Fi®. Case-in-point: our first-to-market 11ac solutions with MU-MIMO technology, which can triple your Wi-Fi speeds. Now here’s something you don’t: our MU-MIMO technology can also be a game changer for notebooks, TVs, cameras, and other electronics on your home network. Thanks to the new QCA9377 chip, we are the only vendor to provide an end-to-end ecosystem of 11ac solutions with MU-MIMO—which can help everyone on your network experience Wi-Fi to its maximum effect. Now that’s commitment.

You may recall MU-MIMO (or as we dub it, Qualcomm® MU | EFX) is the technology that allows your router to multi-task like never before, and it made a big splash when we announced it in April. With an exploding number of devices using Wi-Fi for more intense media and data traffic, older routers may struggle to keep up. By serving more devices at once (instead of one at a time), Qualcomm® VIVE™ with MU | EFX can make better use of your airwaves, which means up to 3x faster Wi-Fi for every smartphone, tablet, PC or TV.

Leading home networking manufacturers are already introducing products with MU | EFX technology, and we are enabling mobile customers to offer the feature in upcoming smartphones and tablets. Now the QCA9377 will extend the performance advantages of MU | EFX to a new set of consumer electronics and computing devices.

MU | EFX is not just for laptops and notebooks, but also connected TVs, media adapters, audio, gaming systems, and more. With the QCA9377 optimized for energy efficiency, your devices could benefit from extended battery life too.

We are conducting the industry’s first over-the-air, end-to-end MU-MIMO demonstration at Broadband World Forum in Amsterdam, October 21-23. It will showcase an 802.11ac router with MU | EFX, the latest in excellent connectivity. Visit us at stand MR5 to see the demo and learn more about Qualcomm VIVE with MU | EFX.
