Sharp AQUOS Crystal: edge-to-edge HD display and high-end audio

Sharp AQUOS Crystal smartphone in white

The recently announced Sharp AQUOS Crystal smartphone has an approximately 5-inch, 720p LCD screen with practically no bezel, the area which normally surrounds a phone’s display, making it an effectively “frameless” visual experience.

The AQUOS Crystal is powered by a Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 400 processor running Android 4.4.2 (KitKat). Other specifications include an 8-megapixel camera, 1.5GB RAM, 8GB of storage (with a micro SD slot for up to 128GB memory expansion), and a 2040mAh battery.

While the showstopper on this 4.9-ounce phone is certainly the novel edge-to-edge HD screen, the AQUOS Crystal also boasts HD Voice and impressive audio thanks to Harman Kardon technology. Harman Kardon’s LiveStage adds a lifelike depth of sound to any headphone listening experience, and Clari-Fi vitalizes the quality of compressed digital music for enhanced realism and fidelity.

For the social mavens out there, a clever feature called Clip Now takes a screenshot by just swiping a finger across the top edge of the phone. The picture is then automatically saved with an embedded URL for easy sharing.

The Sharp AQUOS Crystal will be available through Sprint, in either white or black.
