The BlackBerry physical keyboard is back - in the Snapdragon powered BlackBerry Q10 LTE

BlackBerry Q10

If you’re excited about the new BlackBerry Q10 LTE and its traditional, physical QWERTY keyboard, you’re not alone. In the UK, it’s already been selling like hotcakes, with one retailer reporting it to be their fastest selling consumer electronics product ever. Like the British already seem to know, the QWERTY keyboard is the only thing traditional about the Q10. It’s packed with cool new features. Virtually all of the innovations BlackBerry introduced in the recently launched Z10 LTE are present in the Q10 LTE:

  • The Q10 sports a multi-touch gesture-based user interface (UI); a swipe of your hand takes you from whatever app you’re using directly to the BlackBerry Hub, a kind of universal inbox that includes all your email, text and social networking app messages and notifications.
  • BlackBerry’s innovative UI is based on BlackBerry 10, their new mobile operating system.
  • BBM Video with Screen Share lets you switch your BBM chat to a BBM video conversation, share what’s on your screen, and even show a contact the view from your camera.

Also like the Z10 LTE, BlackBerry chose the Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ S4 Plus processor to power the Q10 LTE.  So you know it’s designed for the processing capacity and high-speed connectivity needed for these kinds of advanced features, as well as long battery life, high-end 3D graphics, rich multimedia, and lightning quick web browsing, The Q10 also features an 8 megapixel rear facing that captures 1080p HD video and a 2 megapixel front facing camera that captures 720p HD video, in addition to the many other cool capabilities BlackBerry has added.

The BlackBerry Q10 is coming this summer, and will be available from AT&T, Verizon Wireless, Sprint, and T-Mobile.  You can sign up for updates at the carrier sites, or directly from BlackBerry.
