This week in Barcelona Nokia announced their latest Windows Phone 8 smartphones, the Lumia 720 and Lumia 520. Like all Windows Phones, these Lumias feature Snapdragon processors.
The Lumia 720 is a stylish smartphone that Nokia says is "destined for the hands of socialites." It’s light and sleek, with curved glass and a polycarbonate unibody. The main camera has an incredible f/1.9 aperture that’s bigger than almost any high-end smartphone out there. A big aperture means more light getting into the camera and when this is combined with the same exclusive Carl Zeiss optics normally reserved for Nokia’s flagship smartphones, it packs quite a punch. The pictures it takes are clear and bright in lowlight, and dazzling in daylight.
The Lumia 720 has a Snapdragon™ S4 Processor and will be available in Europe during March 2013 in red, white, cyan, black and yellow. No word on US carrier or availability at this time.
The Lumia 520 is Nokia’s most affordable Windows Phone 8 smartphone yet. Nokia, is looking to bring a high-end smartphone experience within range of more people than ever before. With a super sensitive touch four inch display, camera lenses, exchangeable shells and Nokia’s unique music and navigation services you get many of the same Lumia experiences that were previously available only on high-end devices.
The Nokia Lumia 520 also has a Snapdragon S4 Processor, is available in yellow, red, cyan, white and black. It’s planned to start shipping in March – first to Asia and then to the rest of the world from there. It will be coming to the US with T-Mobile.
