Meet Romo: The Smartphone Robot

It started with a group of makers, creating smartphone-powered robots in their small work space. Romotive, now a funded company and one of Vegas' brightest startups, is still creating robots -- now on a much larger scale. The idea is simple: create a mobile-powered robot, easily controlled using a simple app. With the app, users can control Romo, driving him around and video chatting with anyone in his presence. Originally a Kickstarter project, Romotive has since raised $6.5 million in venture funding, making it one of the most successful Las Vegas–based companies.
