Snapdragon BatteryGuru and Qualcomm Quick Charge: Do More, Recharge Less

Snapdragon BatteryGuru

Here at Qualcomm, we often talk about all the ways Snapdragon processors can help your phone or tablet have better battery life, but there's more that we're doing to minimize the amount of time you spend charging your device.

One new way we're attacking the issue of better battery life is with a new app: Snapdragon™ BatteryGuru, currently available as a beta release. Snapdragon BatteryGuru extends battery performance and improves overall user experience by making intelligent changes that optimize Snapdragon powered Android smartphone functionality.

The app requires no user configuration; Snapdragon BatteryGuru automatically learns your habits and preferences and adjusts your smartphone's settings for you.  After a few days of getting to know you, you'll be notified that Snapdragon BatteryGuru is ready to go – as it starts extending your battery life and improving your overall experience.  As you continue using your device, the BatteryGuru app continues to learn and optimize your experience.

Recent reviewers of Snapdragon BatteryGuru have said:

"As days go by I get better and better battery..."

"[The app] didn't make a single dent in my battery life while learning. It just got a ton better..."

"I didn't think it would help, but it did wow it works great"

"With this app I hoped for the best and instead got so much more!"

You can download the beta release of Snapdragon BatteryGuru for free from the Google Play store.

No matter how much BatteryGuru enhances your battery life, you will – eventually – have to charge your device. Enter Qualcomm Quick Charge.

Qualcomm Quick Charge actually speeds up the time it takes to charge your device. If you have a phone with a Snapdragon Processor, you may be already enjoying the benefits of Quick Charge, which launched last year and offers up to 40% improvement in charging speeds over regular power systems.

But we're not stopping there. Last week we announced that Quick Charge 2.0 will be available in the upcoming Snapdragon 800 processors. Products with Quick Charge 2.0 can charge up to 75% faster than products without Quick Charge technology. In our labs we found tablets that normally take over 7 hours to charge were able to reach full charge in less than 3 hours with Quick Charge 2.0.

So, to recap: Snapdragon processors + Snapdragon BatteryGuru + Qualcomm Quick Charge = Less time charging, more time doing.
