Windows® RT Gaming Across the Globe with Snapdragon™ S4 Processors

Microsoft’s Windows RT is such a new and exciting platform that most content, especially in the gaming area, is being greeted with open arms.

Qualcomm recognizes the importance of Windows RT and recently demonstrated how Microsoft has already taken advantage of some of the key technologies within our Snapdragon S4 processor. The task at hand: Multiplayer gaming across the globe with Windows RT. Qualcomm took part in two separate tradeshows occurring in the same week: E3 (Los Angeles) and Computex (Taiwan). The most exciting way that we could think of to link these two events was to demonstrate one of the first MMO games ported to Windows RT – Vendetta Online, by Guild Software. This fast-paced, space combat game was played in real-time across different parts of the globe, connected by the fastest 4G LTE connection.

Two Windows on ARM Test PCs with Snapdragon™ S4 Processors were used and gameplay was smooth no matter where we were in the world.
