Built for distributed processing

Snapdragon AR2 utilizes a groundbreaking distributed processing architecture which distributes processing between AR glasses and a host such as a smartphone or laptop using Wi-Fi. It also distributes processing within the glasses using an AR processor and co-processor which handle latency-sensitive processing.

Power-optimized

The main processor works intelligently with the co-processor and the connectivity platform, and leverages a reproduction engine tailored for AR displays that contributes to lower the processing power by 50%1.

Perception-first

Tracking and environment understanding is more precise with support for up to nine concurrent cameras. On-glass processing of eye tracking, and iris authentication enable new interactions and levels of security.

The Snapdragon AR2 processor includes a custom-built engine for visual analytics as well as optimized Qualcomm Spectra™ ISP and Qualcomm® Hexagon™ Processor. Combined, this helps to accelerate AI intensive tasks such as image recognition, reclassification and hand tracking by 2.5x – ensuring AR experiences are rich and immersive.

Sleek by design

Built from the ground up, the Snapdragon AR2 Gen 1 enables OEMs to create glasses that are high performance and comfortable, while being smaller than glasses using a traditional one chip architecture. The smaller AR processor and multi-chip architecture help to achieve a 40% smaller PCB and 45% less wires3 for slimmer and sleeker AR glasses.
