What is Wi-Fi 6E?

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. is extending Wi-Fi 6 into the 6GHz band, a variant called Wi-Fi 6E. Wi-Fi 6E offers unmatched opportunities, unlocking the full potential of our Wi-Fi 6 features to power the next generation of high-performance devices. Qualcomm Technologies is building upon our foundational technologies spanning mobile, compute, and networking —creating new opportunities for our customers.

Speed

6GHz brings numerous 160MHz channels, opening the door for multi-gigabit per second speeds for some of the fastest Wi-Fi experiences ever.

Capacity

Up to 1200 MHz (1.2GHz) of add’tl spectrum more than doubles the number of pathways currently available for sending and receiving data, which drastically increases capacity while reducing congestion.

Latency

Clear 6GHz spectrum occupied only by efficient Wi-Fi 6 traffic designed to deliver significant reductions in latency, increasing responsiveness for latency sensitive applications.
