WiFi Offload Prototype Demo

This video demonstrates Qualcomm’s 3G/LTE Wi-Fi Offload Framework running on a smart phone prototype running Android. It demonstrates how to improve data offload performance and user experience. There are three main components to the solution. 1) A mechanism to provide operator policies to the device. 2) Smart algorithms in the device that detect interface characteristics such as signal strength, delay, bandwidth, connectivity etc. 3) Seamless and transparent handovers between 3G/LTE and Wi-Fi
