Qualcomm Halo™ Wireless Electric Vehicle Charging (WEVC) is highly  efficient, convenient and easy-to-use wireless charging technology for charging Electric Vehicles (EV). Drivers of Halo vehicles  simply park and charge without the need for plug-in cables or adaptors. The technology for Halo vehicles has been developed over many years. Working  closely with the automotive industry, the technology  uses resonant magnetic induction to transfer energy  wirelessly, from a ground-based pad to a pad integrated in the vehicle.

A complete systems design approach.

Qualcomm Halo Wireless Electric Vehicle Charging (WEVC) technology was developed using a systems design approach. Our engineers generate practical solutions to technical challenges across the entire WEVC system, including  power conversion, tuning, wireless power transfer, magnetics, control, communications and safety systems. 


Qualcomm Halo Wireless Electric Vehicle Charging (WEVC) technology enables license partners to design and build a WEVC system that meets automotive manufacturer requirements, regardless of coil architecture. Our comprehensive technology—a  wireless power transfer process— aims to enhance the ability of Tier 1 licensees to develop commercially and technically viable WEVC systems and supports the future design of improved WEVC systems.

Quick and efficient wireless charging technology

Quick charging with high power WEVC, supporting wireless power transfers at 3.7 kW, 7.4 kW, 11 kW and 22 kW with a single primary base pad and wireless power transfer efficiency of 90%+.


Offers drivers of WEVC enabled vehicles the potential to charge at wireless charging stations at home, at work, in public and eventually even while driving with dynamic charging – the ability to charge while driving.
