Snapdragon Summit 2022: Snapdragon Insider Maria “Shana” Lopez (@shanahazuki on Twitter) brings you a Day 2 recap.

Aloha, everyone! I’m Maria but also known as Shana — @shanahazuki on Twitter and Instagram — and I’m bringing you the Day 2 wrap-up from Snapdragon Summit 2022. My surroundings are so beautiful aren’t they?

Woke up early this morning because I’m trying to soak up every last minute I have in beautiful Hawaii! Had some breakfast with my fellow Snapdragon Insiders, and edited some photos from our rainforest adventure yesterday. (Check out the stories on @snapdragonofficial on Instagram!) This is my personal favorite:

After breakfast, we headed over to the Snapdragon Content Lab for a live conversation between Jenna Ezarik  (@jennaezarik on Twitter) and Qualcomm camera expert Judd Heape. So cool to listen to people with such passion — and expertise — talk about the incredible (and ever evolving) world of mobile photography. As Jeff said yesterday, I’m in awe of what I’m able to create with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, so I can’t wait to start making photos with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2!

Speaking of which. After Judd educated everyone on the big picture camera advances made possible by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, Ziad Asghar (VP of Product Management, Snapdragon Roadmap and Application Processor Technologies) walked us through the new AI-ISP. On-board, real-time, custom AI photo editing is going to be an absolute game changer!

After the #ShotOnSnapdragon Live Chats, we took a quick break to grab a snack and relax between activities.

After that, we got a taste of what mobile gaming is going to look like on devices powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. All I can say is: wow. I never thought I’d see the day when mobile gaming catches up with console and PC gaming, but here we are.

Next came lunch, and after that, the moment we were all waiting for: the Day 2 keynote. From next-gen AI experiences (and info on how Qualcomm AI research is driving a huge evolution in the PC) to on-device natural language processing to Snapdragon Spaces news to big partner presentations, the keynote had it all.

Of course, the biggest news of the day was the announcement of the Snapdragon AR2 Gen 1 platform — the premium standard for next-gen AR glasses. 2.5x better AI performance. Lower processing power. And a 40 percent reduction in PCB size means a sleeker fit — and a more immersive experience. Massive news for people who work, play, and create in AR environments!

After some fascinating tech demos — including a series of breathtaking gaming demos on a Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 powered laptop — we had some time to explore before dinner.

Finally, we headed off to dinner…

An awesome ending to a remarkable day!
