Snapdragon Summit 2022: Snapdragon Insider Ryan (@spintheweedawg on Twitter) brings you a Day 3 recap.
Welcome to the final recap for the 2022 Snapdragon Summit. I’m Ryan Cleary — @spintheweedawg on Twitter and @ryan.cleary.photography on Instagram — and I’m here to take you through all the exciting happenings and announcements from Day 3.
Started the day off with an amazing view and a swim with one of my favorite people in the world: Piotr, who I've known for many years from the Xiaomi Community in the UK. We wanted to get some amazing beach shots of this beautiful place — and probably had a little too much fun doing so.
After a bit of food and some much-needed caffeine, we headed for some tech talks and demos on Snapdragon Sound™ Technology and Snapdragon® Connect.
I especially enjoyed the demo of the 5G mmWave 3GB download speed. The demo of the partnership between Snapdragon and SoundHound was also extremely cool!
From there, we headed over to the Snapdragon Content Lab for a pair of #ShotOnSnapdragon live chats — one on gaming, and one on XR. Dave Durnil (Global Head of Gaming and Snapdragon Studios) and PJ Jacobowitz — Qualcomm’s resident gaming experts — walked us through the exciting new gaming capabilities of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, including hardware-accelerated ray tracing. Then Hugo Swart (Qualcomm Technologies VP and GM of XR and Metaverse) dove into questions about the future of Pokémon Go with Maryam Sabour (Niantic GM and Head of Business, AR Headsets). Super cool seeing industry experts discuss some of the most exciting aspects of the Snapdragon ecosystem!
After a break for lunch, we reconvened for a photography masterclass from none other than me. Exciting to share some of my tips and tricks with everyone to help improve their mobile photography games! Of course, the brand-new AI-powered image signal processor (ISP) on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will help with that, too!
It was a complete honor to be asked by Snapdragon to run this session with other passionate mobile photography enthusiasts. A big shout out to T-Mobile USA for sponsoring the event! And it wouldn’t have been possible without 5G connectivity enabled by Snapdragon!
Before getting ready for the evening festivities, we all headed over to the now-iconic Snapdragon surfboard for some more photos — and to mark it with our signatures!
Finally, we closed the day with a traditional Hawaiian luau. Great food. Great conversation. Great vibes. Great entertainment. This was the highlight of the event, as everyone got the chance to have a good catch up and meet new people from across the Snapdragon family.
