Aloha Snapdragon Insiders! I’m Amelie, (@amelievonb on Instagram and TikTok) and the Hawaiian word for both hello and goodbye seems appropriate for Day 3 (aka the last day) of the 2024 Snapdragon Summit. That makes this a bittersweet update. While I’m grateful for all the amazing things I’ve seen and the incredible comradery I’ve enjoyed over the last few days, I’m definitely sad to see everything wrap up.
If you missed any of the action from the first couple of days, I highly recommend you take a look at the Day 1 recap by Manos (@Orange_Scooter on X, @mf__os on Instagram) and the Day 2 recap by Devin (@Lexcyn on X, @devinthreethousand on Instagram). Each day featured incredible keynote speakers, some lively Q+A, and, of course, exciting Insider-only demos… so the daily recaps are well worth checking out.
Day 3 kicked off with plenty of excitement. Everything we saw during the first two days made the discussion with other Snapdragon Insiders over breakfast some of the best back-and-forth of the entire summit. There’s nothing like getting a chance to talk about all the things that have your brain buzzing after two full days of seeing the latest Snapdragon® technology developments. For me, my favorite demo from the last two days was testing out the Video Object Eraser from the Snapdragon 8 Elite demos, and getting to see how easy it is to edit videos in real time thangs to on-device AI:
But Day 3 was a little different, because after everything we’ve seen and done in the last 48 hours, today was mostly about getting a chance to enjoy the incredible Snapdragon Insider community. As someone who loves to keep up with all the latest developments, I had a great time at the morning session dedicated to talks about AI.
Of course, you can’t come to Maui and not expect to play outdoors a bit, so afterwards we had a Snapdragon Insider excursion outside. Specifically, a boat and snorkeling trip. The name of the catamaran that took us to see some of Maui’s amazing sea life was named the Ali’i Kai, or the “Ocean Chief,” which reminded me of the old Hawaiian saying about ali’is/chiefs that roughly translates to “An ali’i is a chief because of the people he surrounds himself with.” Appropriate considering the company on the boat.
After drying off we headed to the closing event, the Snapdragon Summit luau. It was a great ending to the entire summit, a combination of incredible food and amazing company in an unforgettable setting. Who could ask for more!
Thank you to my fellow wonderful Snapdragon Insiders who made the week such a fantastic experience. You all are what makes this community special.
I’m already looking forward to next year, so let the countdown to Snapdragon Summit 2025 begin!
