You’ve seen the news: Samsung Unpacked was filled with epic announcements. Our amazing partner unveiled its latest flagship smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, powered by Snapdragon® 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy. It’s an AI powerhouse, redefining the relationship we have with our devices. For an unveiling this big, you know we had to bring some Snapdragon Insiders along to see the show.
Snapdragon Insiders Bree (@xobreex3 on X and xo.breex3 on Instagram), Chad (@chadptorres on X and Instagram), Gaylon (@iamghaire on X and Instagram), and Joe Hickey (@jhickey85 on X and Instagram) came out to San Jose, CA to experience Samsung Unpacked in person. Let’s see what they had to say about the experience.
Can you describe Samsung Unpacked in one word?
Gaylon: AI.
Joe: Production.
Chad: Epic.
Bree: Incredible.
What was it like being at Samsung Unpacked for the Galaxy AI and S24 announcements?
Gaylon: It was really cool. It was nice to see people with similar interests all in one spot to witness the birth of a new, revolutionary product.
Joe: It was incredible. It was a big production — you don’t quite get the whole magnitude of the event if you’re not in the room — and the atmosphere was amazing.
Chad: Being there is life-changing if you’re into tech. Seeing it on a TV screen or your computer is nothing like seeing it in person, it’s a totally different experience.
Bree: You could just feel the electric energy coming from everyone there the moment you walked in the door. This was my first time attending an event like Samsung Unpacked, so having the opportunity to see the reveal of the much-anticipated Galaxy AI and S24 series in person was really a cool experience.
What was your first impression of the Samsung Galaxy S24 devices?
Joe: It feels really refined. I got hands-on with the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra in purple, and it’s beautiful. It feels a lot lighter with the titanium, and the flatter screen is a nice upgrade.
Bree: They’re next level! It’s really spectacular how tech just keeps getting better and better. The amazing new features in the S24 series are really going to change the game.
Chad: I was really impressed. I like the flatter screen and the titanium body on the S24 Ultra — it gives the device a nice feel. The S pen was also incredibly smooth.
What most excites you about Galaxy AI?
Joe: After testing it at Unpacked, I liked using the AI to remove reflections when editing photos. I really enjoy editing but it can take a lot of time, so using AI to speed up the editing process is great.
Chad: Generative fill. Being able to crop and rotate an image and fill in the missing pieces instead of losing part of the image or having it look incomplete is a game-changer.
Gaylon: Circle to search. I use Google Lens a lot, so I can definitely see myself using this new feature frequently.
How do you think AI will change the way we use our devices?
Bree: I think it'll make life easier as it becomes more integrated in our devices. Take the note assist and transcript assist for example — both of these are helping me save time and energy.
Gaylon: I agree with Bree, I definitely think AI is going to be really beneficial by automating a lot of tasks in our lives.
Chad: AI is going to improve your lifestyle. It will fill in those missing experiences in your day, ensure you don’t forget things by acting as a personal assistant, and enhance everything you do on your phone.
What do you love about being a Snapdragon Insider?
Gaylon: The community. It’s cool to get devices and go to events like this, but it really comes down to the people. I haven't met a single Snapdragon Insider that isn’t super cool. There’s no negativity, just a supportive community.
Joe: It’s such a great community. There’s like-minded people that love tech, and even if you’re into a niche like gaming or photography, there’s groups of Snapdragon Insiders you can talk to.
Bree: The community. Meeting other Snapdragon Insiders from around the world while having the opportunity to attend cool Snapdragon events is a really great combination that definitely amplifies the experience.
