In celebration of the cherry blossom bloom (“Sakura”) in Japan, we’re thrilled to introduce you to our first Snapdragon Insiders Spotlight for 2025! Meet Airi from Japan (@airinagatomo). Airi is an event emcee, a reporter around Tokyo and Yokohama, a gamer, and an enthusiastic member of the Snapdragon Insiders community. Before we jump into the interview, here’s a message from Airi:

日本では多くの人が桜を楽しんでいる中、今月の Snapdragon Insiders の最新版をご紹介できることを嬉しく思います。3 月は日本の 長友愛莉 (@airinagatomo) さんです。長友さんはイベント MC、東京/横浜のレポーター、ゲーム プレイヤー、そして Snapdragon Insiders コミュニティの熱心なメンバーです。インタビューに入る前に、長友さんからのメッセージをご紹介します。

How did you get involved with the Snapdragon Insider community?

I am a game ambassador and have been playing games on devices powered by Snapdragon – some of my favorites are Sony Xperia 1 V, Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, and Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. When the Snapdragon Insiders program launched in Japan in 2022, Qualcomm Technologies Japan reached out to me and told me about the program. I am deeply honored to be here! 

ゲームプレイヤーとして活動していたことがきっかけで、2022年、日本のSnapdragon Insiders立ち上げ時に、アンバサダー就任のタイミングで参加しました。知れば知るほどSnapdragonの魅力にひかれました。

Why are you a fan of Snapdragon?

なぜSnapdragonのファンなのですか？

I have been using smartphones powered by Snapdragon for some time, and the photo and gaming performance on the devices are really great. That’s why I initially became a fan.

以前からSnapdragon搭載のスマートフォンを使っており、写真やゲームの性能が素晴らしいので Snapdragonのファンになりました。

Can you share how Snapdragon technology has made a significant difference in your life?

Snapdragonテクノロジがあなたの生活に大きな変化をもたらした瞬間を教えてください。

I am always editing movies on my personal computer, and with my Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x laptop powered by a Snapdragon^® X Elite processor, it’s so much easier to get projects done. I feel very supported by the technology! Plus, the battery life lasts quite a lot longer than other devices I’ve tried.

私はいつもパソコンで動画を編集していますが、Snapdragon^® X Eliteプロセッサを搭載したLenovo Yoga Slim 7x  を使用した際、プロジェクトを完了するのがとても簡単になりました。これは、Snapdragonのテクノロジーに支えられていると実感しました!さらに、バッテリーの寿命は、私が試した他のデバイスよりもかなり長持ちしてます。

What do you like most about being a Snapdragon Insider?

Snapdragon Insiderであることの何が一番好きですか？

My favorite part of being a Snapdragon Insiders is getting the opportunity to attend device launch events, including ones I’ve attended such as Xperia SPECIAL EVENT 2024, DreamHack Japan 2023, and the Snapdragon Japan Launch Event. 

Snapdragon Insidersに参加していることで、最新のSnapdragon製品の情報がしれたり、発表会があるのが本当に楽しいです。以前、Xperia SPECIAL EVENT 2024, DreamHack Japan 2023やSnapdragon Insiders Japan 立ち上げイベントに参加させて頂きました。

How has being a part of the Snapdragon Insiders community impacted your relationship with technology?

Snapdragon Insidersコミュニティに参加したことで、テクノロジーとの関係にどのような影響がありましたか？

Each day I learn more about the technology, and it makes me so happy to promote Snapdragon technology in Japan together with Qualcomm Technologies Japan and other Snapdragon Insiders.

今まで知らなかったことばかりでしたが、日々進化して驚きやサプライズを私たちに届けれくれるクアルコムジャパンやSnapdragon Insiders の皆さまとのSnapdragonの話題で盛り上がることが楽しいです。

What’s your go-to device powered by Snapdragon ?

There are so many – but just a few of my favorites are: Sony Xperia1 VI, Sharp AQUOS R9, Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x, Microsoft Surface Pro and the Google Pixel Watch 3.

私のお気に入りのSnapdragon製品はいくつかありまして、Sony Xperia1 VI, Sharp AQUOS R9, Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x, Microsoft Surface Pro そして the Google Pixel Watch 3になります。

What does being featured as the Snapdragon Insiders Spotlight mean to you?

Snapdragon Insiders Spotlightに掲載されることは、あなたにとってどのような意味がありますか？

First of all, I want to say THANK YOU for giving this opportunity, it’s a big honor for me. I work as a radio reporter and a gaming talent in Japan – mainly Tokyo area, and this is my FIRST time being featured on a global channel!  I am really excited.

まず、今回、この機会を頂きましたことに感謝します。私は、日本でラジオリポーターやゲームタレントしてますが、世界に向けての発信は初めてなので緊張もしていますがワクワクとあらたな挑戦としてとてもいい経験をさせていただきました。

What advice would you give to someone considering joining the Snapdragon Insiders community?

Snapdragon Insidersコミュニティへの参加を検討している人に、どのようなアドバイスをしますか？

I highly recommend getting involved. Technology is imperative for everyone. There is something for everyone to enjoy in the community, and it’s exciting to keep up with Snapdragon technologies. I’m continuously impressed!
