It’s a new year, and we have plenty of new Snapdragon Insiders to introduce you to over the coming months. We’re kicking off 2024 with Debayan (@DebayanBag on X and @debayans_gallery on Instagram) from India!
Let’s see what Debayan had to say about his love for Snapdragon and mobile photography — but first, here’s a quick word from Debayan.
January Insider of the Month

What sparked your interest in technology?
Mobile photography. And as a mobile photography lover, I’m really excited that Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform is coming to smartphones. It’s going to be great for mobile photographers, and I’m excited about the AI features as well. Beyond mobile photography, my interest has expanded to XR devices powered by Snapdragon like the Meta Quest 3 and Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses.
How did you get involved with Snapdragon Insiders?
I got involved last year when a friend here in India introduced me to the Snapdragon Insiders community. This community is so helpful, especially with photography. We’re always giving each other tips on how to improve and encouraging each other. I always participate in the monthly #ShotOnSnapdragon challenges, and the Snapdragon India Instagram (@snapdragon_in) even featured one of my photos.
What’s your go-to Snapdragon powered device?
My current device for photography powered by Snapdragon is the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G, which has the Snapdragon 888 5G Mobile Platform. Its impressive camera system captures high-quality photos and videos, while the vibrant display and sleek design contribute to a premium user experience. Plus, the Snapdragon processor enables powerful performance, efficient multitasking, and a great gaming experience. It’s a great budget-friendly choice, and I’m really enjoying it.
Why are you a fan of Snapdragon?
Being a Snapdragon fan means staying at the forefront of technology. My phone isn't just a communication device anymore, it's a pocket-sized AI powerhouse. Snapdragon AI technology makes everything from photography to language translation faster, smarter, and more personal. Snapdragon is powering so many futuristic devices, like the Humane AI pin and Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, so it’s easy to be a fan of Snapdragon technology.
As a photographer, I’m blown away by the camera capabilities of phones powered by Snapdragon. Features like low-light photography and videography, video stabilization, and much more have made me a fan of Snapdragon. And as a gamer, playing on a phone powered by Snapdragon is a game-changer. The smooth frame rates and immersive graphics make it feel like I'm playing on a console. Snapdragon technology has completely transformed my mobile gaming experience.
If budget wasn't an issue, what's your ideal photoshoot location?
I would stay in India, and I’d love to capture the landscapes, the streets, the people — everything. There’s so much to see in this country, so I have a lot to capture.
What's your dream creator collaboration?
I would love to go on a photography trip with some of my photography friends in the Snapdragon Insiders community, like Jeffrey Riley (@jeffrey_jpeg on X and Instagram). There are so many talented photographers in this community.
What’s your favorite photo you’ve ever taken with a smartphone camera powered by Snapdragon?
I honestly can’t say. To me, photography is a subjective experience, and the beauty of an image is in the eye of the beholder. But I can say that the Snapdragon Insiders community has helped me improve my photography a lot. I think that the joy of photography is in the diverse ways an image can connect with individuals based on their unique perspectives and preferences. I’m excited to continue my mobile photography journey with Snapdragon and capture images that hopefully speak to the varied tastes and emotions of those who appreciate photography.
