Meet Snapdragon Insider Tor: A #ShotOnSnapdragon Success Story

Blending his love for technology with a talent for photography, Snapdragon Insider Tor (@torharrington and @snapped_by_tor on Instagram) from the U.K. has become a familiar and friendly face in the Snapdragon Insiders community. Now, we’re thrilled to start 2026 by putting him in the Spotlight!

We chatted with him recently to see how he got involved in the community, what it was like to be on stage with Qualcomm Technologies' CEO Cristiano Amon during Snapdragon Summit 2025, and what his goals are for the year ahead. Check it out.

How did you get involved with Snapdragon Insiders?

I’ve been involved in online tech communities for a while doing amateur photography. Then about two years ago I discovered #ShotOnSnapdragon. I really liked that there were monthly topics that gave us all the same goal. I started sharing my photos and got really positive feedback from the community that just made me want to share more.

Why are you a fan of Snapdragon?

I'm a power user; I want the best tech I can get. So the devices I have tend to be powered by Snapdragon because they’re fast, efficient, and give me the high performance I expect.

But I also love the community aspect. The people I’ve met, both online and in real life, have been incredibly kind, supportive, and passionate about the brand and the #ShotOnSnapdragon photos we take.

Let’s talk Snapdragon Summit 2025. You were on stage with Qualcomm President and CEO Cristiano Amon to help demonstrate his vision for the “Ecosystem of You.” What was that like?

It’s hard to describe, but it was an amazing experience. Cristiano was very down to earth and easy going. Meeting him on stage with the other Snapdragon Insiders is a top 10 highlight of my life, for sure.

Do you have a favorite photo that you captured at Snapdragon Summit this year?

While I was there, I spent a few hours exploring. I went to the beach and drew out the Snapdragon fireball logo in the sand, and I took a picture of that. Then I did a bit of editing to make it colorized. It's a cool combination of #ShotOnSnapdragon and Snapdragon Summit.

Are there any other Snapdragon Summit moments or highlights from that trip that you want to share?

There's so many! But working with Lucy Hedges (@lucyhedges on Instagram and X) who hosted Behind the Silicon, was definitely a highlight. She has fantastic energy and is an amazing person.

What has surprised you the most about the Snapdragon Insider community?

What surprised me most was how easygoing and welcoming the Snapdragon community is. In other groups I’ve joined, things can feel cliquey, but here it doesn’t matter who you are or where you’re from, you can jump in anytime.

What advice would you give to someone considering joining the community?

I was chatting with somebody at a work party about this recently. My advice is to just put stuff out there. If you've got a photograph, post it and tag #ShotOnSnapdragon. Get involved by joining Discord meetups. Sign up for the newsletter and follow Snapdragon on Instagram and X to see what else is going on.

Don't be shy, just get in there. We’re excited to have you.

Speaking of photography and putting yourself out there, what are some of your favorite photos that you’ve taken?

One that comes to mind is an electric light bulb with a retro modern sort of design. I thought it was quite kind of cool looking, so I just stood above it, zoomed in, and got a shot of it.

The other one I took on holiday in Banff in the Rocky Mountains. We hiked a steep, zigzagging trail to the summit, and the view was incredible. The sun was out, but rain kept passing through. As one shower cleared, a rainbow appeared, and I captured a shot of it, edge to edge.

What phone are you currently using?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, which is powered by Snapdragon® 8 Elite Mobile Platform for Galaxy. When Samsung came out with the new Galaxy Ultra series a few years ago, I switched to using that mainly because of the cameras. I can zoom in and get shots that maybe I wouldn't be able to with another device.

What does being featured as the Snapdragon Insider Spotlight mean to you?

It's still hard to believe that it's happening.

Being picked for the Snapdragon Insider Spotlight is such an honor that I could never imagine would happen when I joined two years ago. I am humbled by it all; it's truly a fantastic and amazing thing.

Do you have personal goals when it comes to photography for 2026?

I think for 2026 I want to be better at sharing more of my photos. I also want to try to be a bit more experimental with the photos I take at home and when I’m out. That's my New Year's resolution. Snapdragon Insiders, hold me to it!
