The new year is almost here, but before we ring in 2024, we have one last Snapdragon Insider to feature in 2023. Please give a warm welcome to the December Snapdragon Insider of the Month, Piotr Bartkowiak from the United Kingdom 🇬🇧(@piotrbartkowiak on Instagram and X)!
See what Piotr had to say about the Snapdragon Insiders community in the Q&A below 👇 But first, a quick word from Piotr:
Snapdragon Insider of the Month - Piotr

What sparked your interest in technology?
Technology is something I grew up with from a fairly young age. It was all happening in the 90s with PCs and the internet, so it was an interesting time, but then it kind of stagnated. I didn’t feel like there was a big revolution in technology again until smartphones. They sparked a lot of fresh new ideas about how people are going to interact with this new technology, so that kept me interested in the tech community.
How did you get involved with the Snapdragon Insider community?
I have a few friends who are much bigger geeks than me, who are way more into photography and the technology that drives it, and it was one of those friends who got me involved in Snapdragon Insiders. Once I joined, I found so many people with similar ideas, hobbies, and interests. Many people are just brand loyal, but within the Snapdragon Insiders community, it's more about the technology, sharing ideas, and having good conversations.
Pick one to describe you: audiophile, photographer, gamer, or all around tech enthusiast.
I’m a bit of all of them, honestly. I love photography, but I’m not great at it. My phone has thousands of pictures, but probably only three of them are actually good — a lot of them are just of my cat. I think gaming is big for me, and that there’s still a lot of opportunity for the mobile gaming market to grow. And I obviously love technology. I like reading about what’s in the newest chip, what kind of connection you can sustain with 5G and Bluetooth, all those kinds of details. As for being an audiophile, I’m not as into music but I do appreciate when headphones work well.
What’s your go-to device with Snapdragon technology?
I might upset some people here but my favorite smartphone is actually not the newest one — it’s the one I’ve kept with me for a longer amount of time. Once you have a phone for a while, you can really learn how it works and what tricks you can do with the camera. I’m using an OPPO Find X5 Pro, which is powered by the Snapdragon® 8 Gen 1 Mobile Platform. I know that’s two generations behind, but I still think it’s a great device with a lot of life left in it, and I’m still surprised by how good a camera can be on a smartphone.
What do you like most about being a Snapdragon Insider?
I’ve met a lot of people from different countries that I wouldn’t meet otherwise, and we have almost daily conversations now. It’s nice that the Snapdragon Insiders community is a place where a lot of people from around the world can connect and have a conversation, even though we’re separated by different time zones. We can post on the Discord channel and someone will respond and keep the conversation going — you’re not alone, no matter where you are.
What's your dream creator collaboration?
I would love to collaborate with a couple people on photography, just because they’re so much better than me. I think Bree (@xobreex3 on X and @xo.breex3 on Instagram) has really good, high-end panning shots. Jeffrey (@jeffrey_jpeg on Instagram and X), who I met at Snapdragon Summit 2022, is an awesome guy with a great eye for detail. And Alia (@Redribbon_26 on X and @redribbon26 on Instagram) in Singapore would be great to collaborate with. It would be amazing to see her process.
If you could put the Snapdragon® Digital Chassis™ Solution in one car from movie history, which would it be and why?
It has to be KITT from Knight Rider. I think David Hasselhoff would enjoy it.
What future tech are you most excited for?
I can’t even imagine what tech is going to be like in ten years, let alone farther in the future. The changes we’ve seen in the past decade have completely transformed how we communicate. I can’t imagine walking down the street now and not seeing people looking at their phones and using them to navigate the world. So my guess is that people are going to be more connected but also more present in the future. I think wearables will play a big role, with more seamless integration of AI assistance into your life with whatever devices we create.
If budget wasn't an issue, what's your ideal photoshoot location? Where would you go and what would you shoot?
I would go to Africa and go on a safari where I stay underneath the stars with a smartphone, trying to take as many photos as possible. I would bring as little technology as I can, ideally just the smartphone and a battery pack, and use it to its full potential. I’d also like to go to South America, as close to the Arctic as possible, to see how different the landscape is down there.
