Inside Microsoft Build: Snapdragon Insiders experience next-gen Copilot+ PCs
When the brightest minds in tech gather, magic happens. That was the case at this year's Microsoft Build, where Snapdragon Insiders Devin and Jeremy were at the heart of innovation and excitement, exploring the latest breakthroughs in on-device AI processing while sharing their unique perspectives across their social channels.
From the unveiling of cutting-edge Windows Copilot+ PCs to engaging with industry leaders, these Snapdragon Insiders didn't just attend Microsoft Build — they experienced it.
Microsoft Build 2024 was a landmark event, particularly for those following the evolution of AI. Throughout the event, various partners, including Acer, ASUS, Lenovo, HP, Dell, Samsung and Surface, launched a suite of Copilot+ AI PCs with Windows 11 — all powered exclusively by Snapdragon® X Series Processors. These devices deliver unparalleled performance, advanced on-device AI integration, and incredibly long battery life* that redefines user expectations.
Devin and Jeremy had the unique opportunity to get hands-on with these innovative new devices before they hit the shelves. Here’s what they had to say about their experience.
What were you most excited about at Microsoft Build?
Devin: Microsoft Copilot+ PCs exclusively powered by Snapdragon X Series processors. We saw a lot of different models announced, and I’m really excited to get my hands on some of those.
Jeremy: The Snapdragon Dev Kit for Windows, powered by Snapdragon X Elite. That blew my mind. I used the previous dev kit, and to know that there’s a follow up with Snapdragon X Elite in it is a game-changer for me.
What excites you most about Copilot+ AI PCs exclusively powered by Snapdragon X Series?
Devin: I’m most excited to see the on-device AI processing in action. Historically, we’ve seen AI processing done in the cloud, which is very compute intensive and uses a lot of power. So to offload that back to the edge using using-on device AI processing, I think that’s going to be really important, especially in terms of energy efficiency and reducing carbon footprints.
Jeremy: I’m most curious to see the Neural Processing Unit (NPU) doing all the on-device processing without having to reach out to the cloud. That’s fantastic to me. You’re keeping the data safe on your device, and it’s super fast.
Any big predictions about how Snapdragon X Series processors will change the way we interact with our devices?
Devin: Having Windows on a laptop powered by Snapdragon X Elite is going to fundamentally change how we use computers. To have all-day battery life*, 5G connectivity, all of the various AI capabilities, I think is going to be a game-changer for anyone who uses laptops, especially in a work environment.
Jeremy: Seeing Windows 11 on Snapdragon with Snapdragon X Elite means the wait is over. It’s time for everyone to get one. These devices are here, they’re powerful, and the sheer performance means they’re something I’m going to need every waking moment.
What does it mean to you to be a Snapdragon Insider?
Devin: It’s almost like an extended family for tech enthusiasts. It’s such a close-knit community of like-minded individuals. The way that everyone shares their experiences, their photos from all over the world. Having that connection with people who share that same excitement for new technology is special.
Jeremy: It’s a very enthusiastic community. It’s amazing how many creators I’ve met personally. I’m blown away by the pure community built around everyone connecting and shouting each other out. I feel so positive being a Snapdragon Insider.
