This May, one of our Snapdragon Insiders, Prateeka Kamath, attended COMPUTEX 2024 event in Taipei, Taiwan, diving deep into the innovative potential these PCs offer. Here’s her firsthand experience and insights.

Congratulations on getting selected for the COMPUTEX 2024 event! How did you feel when you first heard the news?

There’s never been a more exciting time to be in tech. When I heard, I was selected to represent the Snapdragon Insiders community in Taiwan, I felt both honoured and excited! I couldn’t wait to witness the best of tech innovation firsthand.

Describe your time at COMPUTEX?

Taiwan’s biggest tech event was nothing short of epic! With tech enthusiasts present from across the globe, I felt like it was the perfect hub for innovation. I was fortunate to catch President and CEO, Qualcomm, Cristiano Amon’s keynote, where he unveiled the Snapdragon X Series. He detailed its AI capabilities and a 45 TOPS NPU, which seems like a solid step up. The cherry on top? Its accessibility, as it’s featured on over 20 devices.

The PCs powered by Snapdragon X Elite and Snapdragon X Plus – what excites you the most?
For me, it’s the forward-thinking approach. The ability to not just build today but build for years from now, that takes a truly brilliant team. Bringing complex technologies like AI to consumer-grade products requires significant foresight, and the Snapdragon X Series accomplishes this remarkably well. It excites me to envision what will be in our hands in the next decade and the future of technology overall.

You had the chance to explore the demo area. What was your experience like?

Experiencing premium technology and conversing with the brightest minds in the industry was truly inspiring; you can’t put a price on that experience. It felt like stepping into the future. We not only saw how content creation and media technology are set to revolutionise but also witnessed advancements in healthtech, fintech, and edtech. Every aspect of our lives is about to become easier. From real-time image creation and music composition to video editing and real-time health monitoring, it was an exhilarating experience. The devices remaining cool and quiet was a bonus. It’s all about pushing the boundaries of what technology can achieve, and I’m all here for it.

Finally, can you share your most memorable moment from the event?

At this point, I’d say every moment was memorable. Being in Taipei, surrounded by the brightest minds in the tech industry, was truly inspiring. However, what truly amazed me was the real-time translation from any language to English. The programme not only auto-detected languages but also provided accurate translations instantly. As a frequent traveller, I was impressed. I can't wait to use it on my next trip and engage in conversations with people that I wouldn't have been able to before. It's clear that the future of computing is now!
