Designing Doriane Pin’s Dream Helmet: Snapdragon’s Creative Collaboration with Mercedes-AMG F1 Academy Team

Doriane’s journey to the track began in childhood, when, at just six years old, she watched her father enter the world of competitive karting. It was love at first sight for Doriane, who waited three long years for her own chance to get behind the wheel. Her entry into karting sparked a lifelong dream of professional driving. Today, at just 20 years old, Doriane calls the racetrack home, breaking boundaries in the world of motorsports as a member of the Mercedes-AMG F1 Academy Team and the Iron Dames program. She’s proud to be a role model for young girls discovering the power, adrenaline, and passion that define racing.

As an experienced designer, Annu’s goal was to allow creativity to flow and Doriane’s personality to shine through—revealing her other unique interests and aspirations beyond the track. From her love of nature, photography, and piano to her ultimate dream of becoming a Formula One World Champion, each aspect of Doriane’s life served as a muse to transform the blank canvas of a helmet.

With the robust capabilities of the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x powered by Snapdragon X Elite, the duo collaborated from start to finish, seamlessly conceptualizing the essence of Doriane’s vision and etching it into a one-of-a-kind design. Every intricate detail brims with her spirit; it’s an elaborate narrative of what has helped her come to this point in her career, as well as what milestones are still to come as she aspires for greatness in competitive racing.

Through it all, the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x was central to every artistic breakthrough. The ultimate tool for sketching, drafting, and rendering artistic concepts, this laptop features native applications like Adobe Photoshop for digital illustrations and Blender for 3D modeling, which allowed Doriane to visualize Annu’s work in real time.

Of course, inspiration and refinement take time. In design and racing alike, every second counts: each fresh idea is like a lap around the track, with new iterations offering a chance to push further. Staying in their flow paid off, and the Dream Helmet was born. The final design showcases Doriane’s persona—as an athlete, a high achiever, and a breakout talent destined to change the future of elite motorsports. Featuring a velvety deep blue base, reminiscent of the night sky, the helmet is sprinkled with vibrant gold stars. Prominently displayed on the side is a Singapore racetrack-inspired constellation, with each star symbolizing a new dream Doriane is determined to achieve—she’s literally reaching for the stars! Silhouettes of majestic mountains grace the helmet’s base, a nod to Doriane’s love for nature, while a vibrant sun shines at the top—the most important part of the helmet, visible to fans as drivers zoom around the track—radiating the adrenaline and excitement that surges through Doriane when she gets behind the wheel. 

Sporting the Dream Helmet during the exhilarating 2024 F1 Academy race weekend in Singapore on September 20th through the 22nd, racing on the challenging Marina Bay Street circuit, Doriane secured her double podium finishes, taking P3 in both Saturday’s and Sunday’s races. 

Her performance reaffirmed her position as one of the top contenders in competitive racing, and both Snapdragon and the Mercedes-AMG F1 Academy Team are proud to support this remarkable young driver as she continues to pursue her goals on the track.
