The Spectra 280 Image Signal Processor (ISP) is the first in the industry to feature HDR video capture designed for Ultra HD Premium displays. Videos contain 62x more color information by capturing in 10-bit color depth and the Rec. 2020 color gamut. The Spectra 280 ISP also provides image enhancements, even in low light, with ImMotion computational photography, slow-motion video capture, and multi-frame noise reduction—all in stunning detail.
Our new Spectra architecture, when combined with our Spectra Structured Light camera module, offers active depth sensing, capable of capturing changes in depth as small as 0.1mm. This will allow users to unlock their device faster using their facial features, and will enable users to detect walls and other surrounding objects while using XR. Active depth sensing also improves image quality for bokeh effect, portrait, refocusing and other high-resolution photography features.
The Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform enables highly advanced, immersive XR experiences with Room-Scale 6 Degrees of Freedom (6DoF) with Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM)—a first in mobile VR. This allows users to freely explore their virtual world while avoiding walls and other objects, without removing the headset. And we’re also introducing Adreno Foveation, which includes tile-based rendering, eye tracking and multi-view rendering to enhance the area the viewer is experiencing.
