In 2017, we were hard at work on bringing 5G to life—accelerating 5G standardization, completing the world’s first 5G interoperability testing, continuing research, announcing products, and more that would ultimately enable 5G NR commercial deployments in 2019.

1/3 3GPP Release 14 Cellular-V2X technology field trial in Germany

The trial efforts are expected to focus on Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V), Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I) and Vehicle-to-Pedestrian (V2P) direct communication, as well as Vehicle-to-Network (V2N) wide area communications.

Qualcomm Incorporated has started sampling Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ X20 LTE chipset, its seventh-generation LTE multimode modem and second generation Gigabit LTE solution, which is built on a leading-edge 10nm FinFET process.

2/22 First Joint Live Demonstration of Gigabit LTE Using Aggregation of Licensed and Unlicensed Spectrum with a Commercial Modem

AT&T, Ericsson, Orange and Qualcomm Incorporated (NASDAQ: QCOM) through its subsidiary, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., are collaborating to show Gigabit LTE using License Assisted Access (LAA) technology.

2/23 Qualcomm and LG Bring 5G and Cellular-V2X Communications into Vehicles

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., and LG Electronics (LG) announced coordinated efforts to facilitate testing and adoption of 5G and Cellular-V2X (C-V2X) communications into vehicles.

2/26 Commitment to Accelerate 5G

Today a contingent of mobile communications companies announced their collective support for the acceleration of the 5G New Radio (NR) standardization schedule to enable large-scale trials and deployments as early as 2019.
