The Snapdragon S3 Gen 1 Sound platform has been designed to deliver rich and immersive experiences for mid-tier earbuds, speakers and headsets. The platform offers a unique way for audio OEMs to differentiate and speed time to market with unprecedented access and support for innovative features including AI, hearing enhancement, echo cancellation and noise suppression, and spatial audio, via the Qualcomm Voice and Music Extension Program.

The Snapdragon S3 Gen 1 Sound Platform offers support for a wide range of innovative 3rd party solutions via our Qualcomm Extension program which offers audio technologies to complement and enhance our sound platforms. Audiophile sound quality

This platform is designed to deliver audiophile sound quality for mid-tier earbuds and headsets. Support for Snapdragon Sound with aptX Lossless streaming at 24-bit 48kHz ensures that listeners hear every detail of their music in stunning lossless quality, experience robust audio even in busy RF environments and experience lag-free gaming with low-latency. The audio DAC performance has also been improved to deliver enhanced SNR and reduce noise floor.

Powerful compute for rich sound experiences

The Snapdragon S3 Gen 1 is our most powerful ever S3 platform, with up to twice the compute power and significantly more processing capability than the previous generation Qualcomm S3 Gen 2 Sound platform. The increased compute power and processing capabilities will help deliver vastly improved mid-tier audio experiences by providing flexibility to implement more powerful features and deliver enhanced performance for multiple use cases, including enhanced echo cancellation and noise suppression.

Delivering new user experiences with Bluetooth® LE Audio

This dual-mode platform with Bluetooth 5.4 functionality integrates the best of LE Audio and classic Bluetooth to support adoption of LE Audio. The Snapdragon S3 Gen 1 Sound Platform enable support for LE Audio and the Auracast™ broadcast audio capability, Unicast Voice, Unicast Music and Gaming. For earbuds, there is support for Auracast™ Broadcast audio. Auracast™ will also enable locations to broadcast Bluetooth audio to enhance the visitor experience, for example tuning into a shared TV in an airport, bar, or gymnasium.
