A HomePlug Green PHY (HPGP) powerline communication (PLC) connectivity solution for electric vehicle (EV) charging applications.

Qualcomm Technologies’ latest HomePlug Green PHY (HPGP) PLC single-chip modem solution, the Qualcomm® QCA7006AQ, supports Ethernet digital interfaces to allow for higher HomePlug Audio Video (HPAV) data rate connectivity applications separate from HPGP communication. Qualified as Automotive Grade 2 in accordance with Automotive Electronics Council (AEC) standard AEC-Q100, the QCA7006AQ also meets electric-mobility ecosystem requirements per Combined Charging System (CCS) and North American Charging Standard (NACS). The QCA7006AQ is also backward compatible and interoperable with the Qualcomm® QCA7000 and Qualcomm® QCA7005 chipset solutions.

With the release of firmware version QCA7006AU.NU.3.5, the PIB (Parameter Information Block) security issues referenced in DEF CON 33 and CVE‑2025‑47324 have been fully resolved and are now embedded directly into the firmware, making them non‑configurable. As a result, remote devices can no longer read or write any PLC‑side information. For more details, please refer to the QCA7006AU.NU.3.5 firmware release notes.
