Building on industry-leading Snapdragon Platform technologies, the Snapdragon Automotive Cockpit Platform, Gen 3, features integrated heterogeneous computing, high-performance artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities, and scalability with a unified software framework. It supports higher levels of computing and intelligence needed for advanced capabilities in next- generation vehicles, including highly intuitive AI experiences for in-car virtual assistants, natural interactions between the vehicle and driver, contextual safety, immersive graphics, multimedia, computer vision, premium audio, advanced wireless technologies, in-car or external camera processing capabilities, rear seat entertainment, and more.

High-performance computing with AI

The Snapdragon Automotive Cockpit Platform, Gen 3, leverages our proven heterogeneous compute capabilities, including the multi-core Qualcomm® AI Engine, Qualcomm Spectra™ Image Signal Processor (ISP), fourth-generation Qualcomm® Kryo™ Central Processing Unit (CPU), Qualcomm® Hexagon™ Processor, sixth-generation Qualcomm® Adreno™ Visual Subsystem, and more. The Qualcomm AI Engine optimizes the AI capabilities of all primary Snapdragon cores including the CPU, GPU, and the Hexagon Processor. The new Hexagon Processor includes Hexagon Vector eXtensions (HVX) and a dedicated Hexagon Tensor Accelerator (HTA) to provide AI acceleration for a more power-efficient implementation of edge-based machine learning use-cases such as Natural Language Processing and Object classification for in-cabin camera or sensing support. Snapdragon Automotive Cockpit Platforms Gen 3 also feature the Qualcomm® Secure Processing Unit, engineered to help protect personal and vehicle data, as well as Qualcomm® Vision Enhanced Precise Positioning-based on-camera sensors and computer vision capabilities to support differentiated use cases on lane-level crowdsourcing of drive data for building map layers.

Heterogeneous system-on-chip (SoC) architecture with visualization

Snapdragon Automotive Cockpit Platforms are highly integrated with virtualization support across multiple hypervisors—addressing the domain convergence of infotainment and driving systems. This helps automakers meet the increasing complexity resulting from the consolidation of the digital cluster and infotainment domains. The Platforms also offer comprehensive software support for Android and LINUX high-level and real-time operating systems, and include flexible and scalable software mixed criticality solutions, multiple engine control unit (ECU) consolidation, high-resolution and refresh rate displays, basic to multi-zone audio with multi-mic echo cancellation and noise reduction, crystal clear in-car communication, state-of-the-art 2D and 3D graphic visualization, and protected entertainment content.
