The SMB348 and SMB358 devices are programmable single-cell lithium-ion/lithium-polymer battery chargers designed for a variety of portable applications. The device provides a simple and efficient way to charge high-capacity Li-ion batteries and power the system via a USB or AC adapter input.

  • USB or AC input with programmable input current limiting (USB 2.0/3.0 compliant)
  • Up to 700 mA charging output from 500 mA USB port or 2000 mA from AC adapter using the TurboCharge mode (patent granted)
  • Input/output CurrentPath control allows system operation with deeply discharged/missing battery – no startup delay
  • USB-OTG and HDMI/MHL power support (up to 900 mA at +5.0 V)
  • Float voltage and charge current compensation for JEITA and JISC 8714 support
  • 1.5 MHz or 3 MHz (not supported for OTG power operation) switching allows tiny external components
