Single & dual-input, programmable single-cell Lithium-ion/polymer battery chargers with Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 support

The SMB1356/7/8/9 are programmable single-cell Li-Ion battery chargers. They support a charge current up to 3A (SMB1357/8/9) as well as dual-input configuration (SMB1356/7/9). All chargers provide automatic input current limiting (AICL), support USB BC 1.2, USB-OTG, and Qualcomm® Quick Charge™ 2.0 for maximum power capability and fast charging. All key charging parameters are fully programmable. Input voltage tolerance is 28V.

Power supply

The SMB1358 can be powered from an input voltage between 4–10 V applied between the USBIN pin and ground.

Precharge mode

Once the battery voltage crosses the 2.1 V level, the SMB1358 precharges the battery to safely charge the discharged cells.

Automatic battery recharge

The SMB1358 allows the battery to be automatically recharged (topped off) when the battery voltage falls by a value of VRECH below the programmed float voltage.
