It’s a harrowing experience that’s all too familiar: One minute you’re reaching into your pocket to pull out your phone, and the next you’re flailing hopelessly after it as it falls to the floor. What happened? How did it get away from you? Don’t worry: Motorola has introduced its new shatterproof smartphone, the Droid Turbo 2 by Motorola with ShatterShield technology, so a dropped phone won’t be an occasion for panic.
The Droid Turbo 2 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor with 3GB of RAM and an option of 32GB or 64GB internal storage. The device boasts 48 hours of battery life, and features Turbo Charge fast charging technology enabled by Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0, so when you do run low, you can be back up to a full charge before you know it.
With a shatterproof screen you won’t have to worry about cracks obscuring the photos and videos playing on the 5.4-inch Quad HD display. So go ahead and take advantage of the 21-megapixel rear-facing camera with rapid focus and shutter speed. And the 5-megapixel front-facing camera with a wide-angle lens means your selfies can finally fit all of your friendlies too.
For those who don’t shiver at the thought of shatters, Motorola also announced the Droid Maxx 2, which features a water-repellent design, a 5.5-inch HD display, and the multitasking Snapdragon 615 processor. Both devices come stocked with all the best Motorola software, including the Moto Assist smart assistant, and Moto Loop to keep your closest contacts close at hand.
The Droid Maxx 2 can be personalized on the fly with five interchangeable Motorola Shells; you can also choose the Motorola Flip Shell in any of three color combinations for some added protection. As for the Droid Turbo, new owners can customize their device using the Moto Maker at the time of purchase, with one full redesign to use within two years.
Both the Droid Turbo 2 and Droid Maxx 2 will be available online at Motorola, and through Verizon Wireless starting today. Outside of the U.S., the Droid Turbo 2 will be known as the Moto X Force.
