It’s no secret that smartphones have a second job as everyone’s go-to camera, which is why many have incorporated camera technology comparable to a standalone point-and-shoot. The new Lenovo VIBE Shot is no exception. Powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor the camera-smartphone hybrid takes stunning photographs and features lightning-fast download speeds.
The VIBE Shot boasts a 16-megapixel rear camera with a six-piece modular lens and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera, designed to capture clear shots instantly. The smartphone also has a physical shutter button, to help eliminate shaky screen taps.
The camera-smartphone features Laser Auto Focus, a unique technology that uses infrared lasers to focus on the subject at twice the speed of normal autofocus. When the user aims the VIBE Shot at the desired subject, the smartphone emits a series of laser beam pulses that bounce off the subject. The Snapdragon 615 processor is engineered to calculate the time it takes the beams to travel to the subject and back, then determines the distance between the subject and smartphone. This allows the phone to take a sharp photo even in low-light situations.
The 2-in-1 smartphone also features tricolor flash and photo luminosity that automatically adjusts based on the unique light conditions of the environment. Optical image stabilization helps to reduce blur, producing sharp photos on the device’s 5.0” wide-view Full HD display. The VIBE Shot supports 4G LTE and Wi-Fi connections to help share those photos quickly, and dual SIM capabilities to manage separate data plans. And with 32GB of internal storage and a microSD slot that can increase memory to an additional 128GB, users can take high-quality photos and videos without constantly worrying about freeing up space.
The Lenovo VIBE Shot comes in red, white, or gray, and is available in select countries. To learn more, visit the Lenovo website.
