Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), a leading developer and innovator of advanced wireless technologies and data solutions, today announced the call for nominations for the fifth-annual 3G A-List Awards. Hosted by Qualcomm, the 3G A-List Awards program recognizes innovative and successful enterprise wireless data solutions worldwide that have been commercially deployed based on 3G CDMA standards (CDMA2000®/EV-DO and WCDMA/HSDPA). Winners of the 3G A-List Awards will have demonstrated: creativity; market acceleration; overall business impact; lower operating expenses; increased user satisfaction; higher return on investment or future replication.
The 3G A-List Awards program is open to enterprises of all sizes, public agencies and non-profit organizations around the world in various stages of deployment and using an array of devices, including PC cards, ExpressCard™, PCI Express® Mini Card and notebooks with embedded 3G minicard capabilities, PDAs, smartphones, telemetry modules and mobile phones. Companies in a variety of industries, ranging from finance and law enforcement to healthcare, are experiencing the benefits of deploying innovative 3G CDMA wireless data solutions, improving organizational efficiency and enterprise productivity.
The vertical market categories of the 2007 3G A-List Awards are:
- Law Enforcement
- Real Estate
“We are constantly looking beyond the immediate horizon to anticipate what services and devices will enhance our customers' businesses in the future. The 3G A-List Awards give us an opportunity to globally recognize those innovative companies that are embracing the enormous benefits that advanced wireless technologies can provide, and we are excited to announce that this year we will have vertical market categories to showcase 3G penetration,” said Kristin Taylor, senior director, business development for Qualcomm. “We've worked hard to build strong relationships with our customers and partners, and we're proud to be part of the solution. Honoring those companies and organizations that have improved their results and increased their efficiency through the use of wireless technologies is extremely rewarding.”
A panel of judges will select 3G A-List winners based on the following criteria:
- Innovation and Creativity: How the organization demonstrated exemplary creativity of concept and approach with a unique adaptation to an existing deployment or with a completely new solution.
- Acceleration and Impact: How the wireless solution achieved results beyond saved costs or revenue generated. For example, rapid market acceptance, simplified interactions with customers, employees or partners, improved customer satisfaction or enhanced communication.
- Measurement and Adoption: How the wireless solution exceeded business objectives, demonstrated meaningful results, improved the company's overall financial state or was adopted by other organizations.
The 3G A-List Awards will be presented at a private reception in San Francisco on October 23, during CTIA Wireless I.T. & Entertainment 2007.
Nominations can be submitted by a qualifying enterprise, agency or non-profit organization, or an enabling partner, such as a wireless operator, software or hardware provider or outside consultant.
