Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), a leader in providing business-to-business wireless solutions, today announced the commercial availability of new software integrations for the GlobalTRACS equipment management solution. The GlobalTRACS solution, Wynne Systems' RentalMan application suite and SmartEquip's e-FleetPro construction equipment lifecycle management applications can now integrate seamlessly for enhanced capabilities and increased productivity. This combined integration of products can significantly improve asset utilization, operational efficiency and reduce operating costs for businesses in the rental equipment industry. Wynne Systems, Inc. specializes in equipment rental software and SmartEquip provides integrated support solutions for fleet utilization and service and parts management.

"Qualcomm is committed to solving efficiency issues to bring real value to our customers," said Larry Cleary, senior director and general manager of construction equipment for Qualcomm Wireless Business Solutions. "These applications from leading service and software providers and our wireless solution combine to increase the value of each product and provide a new level of complete, best-in-class solutions for our customers."

This three-way integration will further benefit customers by improving how the data of preventive maintenance, telematics, billing and other business information work together to reduce manual data entry and increase automation, allowing businesses to focus on extracting the most critical and actionable business information exactly when needed.

"Integrating these three technologies increases the uptime, reliability and profitability of my fleet and opens new doors for how I can manage and grow my business," said Woody Weld, president of ACME Lift Co. "Every business evolves, and I saw that the best opportunities for mine rested in seeing the possibilities in technology. Integrating GlobalTRACS, RentalMan and e-FleetPro will help me improve customer service, increase productivity and trim operating costs even more than these great tools can when used separately."

Qualcomm's GlobalTRACS equipment management system is an end-to-end wireless solution that collects and sends rental equipment engine hours, monitoring for critical systems' health and location information. This operational data is sent automatically or on demand and provides accurate visibility into equipment operations. Wynne Systems' RentalMan application suite is a flexible enterprise system that manages the business practices of an equipment rental or sales organization that, when combined with GlobalTRACS, allows users to more easily access and use business-critical data such as equipment hours, operational history, location, maintenance and administrative information.

A recently added feature of RentalMan, exclusive to the GlobalTRACS-integrated version, is a single, user-friendly critical-information screen that highlights the information and equipment that staff of rental companies need to make informed business decisions, control maintenance costs, improve preventative maintenance, manage liens and supervise equipment security. In addition, the enhanced software dramatically reduces the need for manual data entry and allows rental companies to receive a consistent, near-real-time view of their business and assets at every level of the organization.

SmartEquip's e-FleetPro maintains equipment information and can create asset-specific work and parts orders within RentalMan to manage scheduled and unscheduled maintenance triggered by information supplied by GlobalTRACS. The combination delivers a multiplier effect, enhancing a fleet owners' ability to maintain an accurate and continuous picture of individual machines and overall fleet productivity.

SmartEquip estimates that using e-FleetPro together with RentalMan enhances an average users' fleet utilization by 3 percent, while both reducing equipment downtime and freeing up service time requirements by more than 7 percent. The companies expect that improvements such as these will be enhanced through the integration of GlobalTRACS into this workflow.

"This new integrated solution has a bright future and we predict many customers will take advantage of the enhanced intelligence and benefits of these combined products," said Cleary. "Qualcomm understands the pressures in the marketplace and we're always looking for ways to leverage the right technology and solutions to help our customers' businesses thrive."
