Qualcomm and BenQ Sign CDMA Subscriber Unit and Modem Card License Agreement

Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), pioneer and world leader of Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) digital wireless technology, and BenQ Corporation in Taiwan, a leading manufacturer of digital lifestyle devices, today announced that the companies have signed a new commercial CDMA subscriber unit and modem card license agreement. Under the terms of the new worldwide, royalty-bearing agreement, Qualcomm has granted BenQ a patent license to develop, manufacture and sell WCDMA, TD-SCDMA, cdmaOne™ (IS-95), and CDMA2000® subscriber units and WCDMA and TD-SCDMA modem card products. BenQ had previously been licensed solely for cdmaOne and CDMA2000 subscriber units.
