Qualcomm Promotes Norman L. Ellis to Vice President and General Manager for Qualcomm Wireless Business Solutions’ Transportation & Logistics Group

Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), the leader in mobile communications for the transportation industry, today announced the promotion of Norman L. Ellis to vice president and general manager for Qualcomm Wireless Business Solutions (QWBS), a division of Qualcomm and part of the Wireless and Internet Group. In his new role, Ellis will have specific responsibility for overseeing the transportation and logistics markets and promoting Qualcomm’s industry-leading fleet management solutions.

“Norm has successfully led QWBS’ efforts to deploy and integrate wireless data solutions and has been directly responsible for the signing of several of our marquee customer fleets. Most
recently, he has played a pivotal role in the development of our homeland security solutions,” said Chris Wolfe, president of Qualcomm Wireless Business Solutions. “Norm has an excellent vision for where the transportation and logistics business is headed and we look forward to the success he will bring to the transportation and logistic group.”

Prior to his role in homeland security, Ellis provided leadership for the Private Fleet and Less-than-Truckload markets for QWBS. Ellis joined Qualcomm in 1998 as director of program and product development for QWBS. He has provided strategic leadership with a focus on customer-specific solutions by directing internal resources from a variety of functional areas to achieve successful results.

Before joining Qualcomm, Ellis held key management positions at Mason Dixon Lines, Overnite Transportation Co., and Service Transport, Inc. He has more than 20 years of experience in the transportation and logistics market and is a long time member of the Council of Logistics Management. Ellis is a graduate of Emory and Henry College in Emory, Va.
