Qualcomm announced the winning applications today during an awards ceremony at the BREW 2004 Developers Conference being held at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina in San Diego. The annual awards program showcases achievement and talent in BREW application development in six different categories. An anonymous panel of industry experts chose winners based on several criteria including: visual appeal, originality, ease-of-use, "cool factor" and features.

Twice as many application entries were submitted for the BREW 2004 Developer Awards than in 2003, demonstrating the growing popularity of the BREW solution which provides a simple and robust system for publishers and developers to create and sell their applications globally.
