Qualcomm Incorporated (NASDAQ: QCOM), pioneer and world leader of Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) digital wireless technology, today announced the signing of a CDMA subscriber unit licensing agreement with Vitelcom Mobile Technology, a private company based in Málaga, Spain. Vitelcom designs, develops, manufactures, markets and sells mobile communication products globally. Under the terms of the multi-million dollar worldwide royalty-bearing agreement, Qualcomm has granted Vitelcom a license under its CDMA patent portfolio to develop, manufacture and distribute wireless handsets equipped with WCDMA (UMTS) technology for the Spanish market and CDMA2000 1X and 1xEV-DO for the Latin American market.

Vitelcom Mobile Technology, S.A., a Spanish company established in 2001 and based in the Parque Tecnológico de Andalucia in Málaga (Spain), currently designs, develops and manufactures mobile phone handsets with GPRS technology for Telefónica Móviles which are sold with its Telefónica Movistar brand.
