Qualcomm Executive Honored with San Diego's Prestigious 40 Under Forty 2003 Award

San Diego Metropolitan Commends Bob Briggs for his Professional Successes and Community Involvement

Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM) today announced that Bob Briggs, vice president of global business relations and operations for Qualcomm Internet Services (QIS), received San Diego Metropolitan's prestigious 40 Under Forty 2003 Award at the 4th Annual award luncheon held on Monday, September 15, 2003, at the San Diego Convention Center.

San Diego Metropolitan's 40 Under Forty 2003 Award recognizes 40 of the brightest young professionals, executives, entrepreneurs and civic leaders in San Diego County, who are under 40 years old, for their career triumphs and community contributions.

"With a strong passion and drive for the wireless industry, Bob is an exemplary leader in our organization and embodies the achievements that this award was created to honor," said Peggy Johnson, president, Qualcomm Internet Services. Briggs began his career at Qualcomm in 1995, in various financial positions, eventually moving into the role of vice president of finance and operations for QIS, which included responsibility for QIS business development. In December 2002, Briggs was named vice president of global business relations and operations where he currently manages all contract negotiations with wireless operators. Briggs also oversees the day-to-day business operations of the division, including QIS technical support and systems operations.
