SAN DIEGO -- April 15, 2003 -- Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), pioneer and world leader of Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) digital wireless technology, and Telular Corporation (Nasdaq: WRLS), a leader in the design and manufacturing of wireless products, today announced the companies have signed a multi-million dollar fixed wireless CDMA subscriber unit license agreement. Qualcomm has received equity in Telular Corporation in lieu of a portion of the up-front license fee. Under the terms of the worldwide royalty-bearing agreement, Qualcomm has granted Telular Corporation a license under its CDMA patent portfolio to develop and manufacture its Phonecell® line of fixed wireless terminals and desktop phones implementing CDMA2000® 1X/1xEV-DO/1xEV-DV technologies.
